Coverlay Dash Pads

Post by lee_ford »

Has anyone used these dash covers? The pic looks different from mine. Did Ford use different dashs on different models? Or is that just an optical illusion because of the angle.

Just keep in mind that those aren't actual dash pads, those are dash pad COVERS. They're hard ABS plastic and snap/glue onto the existing dashpad.

Maybe I am just missing it...

Here is a rough idea of what I see in the pic and what I have.

You know the f-600 I got the gauge cluster from had a decent dash pad and I balked on it because I thought it had set in the sun to long and was shape like the 1st drawing. And ours is typically like the second ???

I don't like the covers. I put one on a Chebby and it never fit right. That dash is more complicated than ours though. I just trashed my dash pad and went with the smooth look!

I have put those coverlays on my dad's 79 crew and my dad in laws 73 Grand Torino Sport, they both fit rather well and looked like a brand new dash.Yea,they are hard plastic and the original is soft but I really don't think that matters. The pic might look concave, but it is the same as yours or all our padded dashes.
