steering wheel rubbing?

I am getting an increasingly louder noise from the steering wheel, turn indicator area in the steering column. I will pull the wheel Sunday, but in the mean time, does anyone know what would be rubbing in that area?

Sounds like the upper column bearing has worn out. It's actually pretty easy to replace and only a couple bucks. Check out the little mini-tutorial "Replacing the Upper Column bearing" about halfway down on this page:
