Medium Blue Woven Plastic Seat Covers...

Post by cjsteak »

I'm new to the site and am doing a frame off restoration on a '68 Skyview Blue F100 LWB. I was just wondering if anyone out there produces the standard cab woven seat covers that has the weave going from the front edge of the seat cushion all the way up and over the top like it was from the factory.

I see in LMC they have the custom cab seat covers. I assume it's because they're easier to produce.

Any leads on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Is this the style you're referring to?

This seat was in my '67 Custom Cab F250 parts truck. The seat was in almost perfect shape, aside from a couple small holes in the side panel down by the seat adjuster, which would probably be an easy fix by any competent upholstery shop. (and I should know, since my father was a professional upholsterer for about 30 years.)

I wish I could help you out, but AFAIK there aren't any vendors with these types of covers, unfortunately. :( In fact, I believe LMC is the only vendor that sells upholstery kits of any kind. None of my other vendor catalogs even have any covers at all. That's probably due to there simply being too many different colors and styles used over the years to make it cost-feasible for them to have every available option in stock.

I have been trying to find original style fabric for the seat of my 68 Custom Cab. Someone put me on to a company called SMS Auto Fabrics. I emailed them with all the necessary truck information as well as the interior code. They said that they had fabric that matched my original seats. They sent me a sample for free. Turns out it is the same style that was on the original seat. They only sell the fabric. You have to take it to a local upholsterer to have it put on your seat. May be worth reaching out to them.

Hey guys, thanks for the info! Sorry for the long response time, I was on south padre island for a couple of days for a family reunion. Not trying to get too far off topic here but I saw about 5 old bumpsides on the beach. My favorite was a banged up '68 shortbed 4x4 with about a 6 inch lift and 35's. It pulled out 3 or 4 trucks twice it's size. It had a really healthy sounding FE in it and yanked 'em out of the sand no problem. :D

That seat pictured above is the same as what came in my '68. I'm going to hang onto that pic to match seat fabric too, seeing as how there isn't much left on my truck. hehe..

Thanks for the welcome FormerMarine1981, I'll drop by the ol' welcome mat here in a few and introduce myself. :)

NPD and Dennis Carpenter have a decent selection, but I see disclaimers like "not an exact match".

I emailed SMS and got a reply in 24 hours. A little pricey, and like was said, it's material only so you still got to find a good upholsterer. but they said they could reproduce the lightning bolt logo for my 66 F100 if I wanted it.
