re: leds
Sorry to say you would be better off to use the 1157 (or what ever type automotive you need) conversion LED bulbs, and just put them into the stock taillight housings… Or build your own housing with stock type sockets that will use these bulbs… http://www.ledlight.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=6
Making your own setup is not as easy as you would think, as they don’t make LED’s that are 12v you have to build a circuit with resistors and components to make them work, without popping them as soon as you apply voltage to them…
If you can find the right mix of LED’s and components to use, it is Phenolic Perf Board (Phenolic Perforated Board) or Solderable Perf Board that you want… Here is some links of info for you.

also farmtruck has the trailer leds behind his stock lenses the kind truckers use. for about5-10 each at autozone.
they have a clear lens ansd 5-15 leds per bulb. woops i meant assembly.
bet you could remove the clear lens and put your own on it.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
