70 F-250 Headlights inop

Post by Jeffd836 »

I've recently purchased a 1970 F-250 Ranger, and the headlights are not working. The marker lights are on but no power to the headlights at all. I checked the fuses and are good, what else should I look for?

Check the headlight switch AND dimmer switch.

What do I do to test them, check for voltage?

First thing I'd do is giggle it around, see if it feels loose. Maybe remove it, shoot some contact cleaner into it. But if you can buy it aftermarket, like Autozone or Napa, they're not expensive, so maybe just replace it.

Yes, you could get back there with the wiring diagram and a test light or meter- that would be the better way.

Check the headlights. Sometimes they will burn out at the same time.
