refreshing dash pad ???
Hey Guys,
What's the best product to use to refresh a used dash pad?
I got a really nice one (as close to mint as I have ever seen) at the wrecking yard recently.
I'd like to freshen it up before installing it in my '68 CS.
I've read some posts about vinyl paint not being too good...
any recomendations?
Also what does one use to keep the vinyl nice and soft?
I normally use Armour All... is there anything that might work better?
Thanks guys,
KaptnKAOS

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the input...
I'm not sure I'd wanna put baby oil on the dash pad...
Baby oil leaves a film that stays wet...
thats why it protects vital areas,
Around here, that would end up being covered with dust that would stick to the baby oil... yuck, that would be a mess...
I will check out the Mother's vinyl conditioner....
I have had good luck with other Mother's products...

Hey bugster...
The problem with the baby oil is that you can't get it all off.. the film it leaves attracts dust like a magnet...
I actually tried it before on my '68 GTO. I ended up having to use some alcohol to finally get it all off...
Besides... it made my GTO smell like a baby's butt...

re: refreshing dash pad ???
Yeah, but what minerals does it come from ???
Or is it oil with minerals added...
Heck it could just be Castrol or Moble 1 and crushed Flintstone's vitamins...
Add little Old Spice and yer good ta go...
A little guy just never knows what what gets smeared on his butt...
