You can put a 435 or t-18/19 in there real easy, but they're still 3 gears, you just get a granny to play with when needed.

With a 460 a late model ZF S5-42 is a bolt in, but you have to lose the 24 t-case and go to a mated t-case.

average f250 why cant you use a 2wd zf with the 24 case just have to either shorten or lengthen the drive shaft to take up the difference I would think any 2wd trany that will bolt up to the 460 can be made to work
