refreshing dash pad ???

A very long time ago i was told to use Lemon Pledge on dash pads the oils from the lemon will soak into it and keep it soft and supple besides keep it clean.

From what I read,mineral oil is a by-product of the gas refining process. Nothing like starting the babies out early absorbing chemicals.
