This one should be pretty easy for some of you.

All I'm gonna say is that ALL '67-'72 Ford trucks use these. What are they used for?

They are to hold the heater box on??????????????????????????????

Nope...the heater box is bolted to the firewall.

they are to hold the firewall cover on to the firewall.

i should have waited and answered tomorrow or something. how did you get that out without damaging it? i have mashed bent or cut off everyone i have tried to salvage.

Out of all the trucks I've parted out, I think that was the ONLY survivor. Most of the time they got crushed too, or I purposely crushed them to extract them. They're definitely not an easily-reuseable part.
