Week blinkers
My blinkers are a little slow and are barely any more bright than regular park lights. Any clue what would fix this?

Bad Ground connections will cause this symptom...
FormerMarine1981---- yours could be in the turn signal switch... If I remember correctly there is a mounting screw for the switch that grounds to the column...
1971ford---- Check yours on the wires at that front bulb connection... could also be bulb or connection of the bulb in the socket...
Others may have some more ideas...

Most of the time, when you have one dim one out of some that should be all the same, you will find either a bad ground or a wire that has only a few strands still working.

Check the ground wire between the front marker lamps and the radiator support.
Also check and make sure your tail lamps have a good ground.
I ran a jump wire once from the box to the frame for a buddy and it fixed everything
Rust loves to ruin ground fields.

re: Week blinkers
That might be my problem. After someone fixed the blinkers on my truck I have had front brake lights as well.

re: Week blinkers
Yeah I need a new wiring harness all around. Mine has been hacked up by quick repairs from engine swaps and rats eating wires. Does anyone make an after market wiring harness that is easy to swap out?

hows the wriing at the bottom of the column look? should be a plastic connector of some sort.
did the wire all of the turn wires into one set?
should be blue and white going to blue and white i think this happens twice up front.
yellow and black to yellow and black and a lightish green to lightish green.
and of course there is another wire that goes to the emergency lights.

re: Week blinkers
Good to know I will look tomorrow. The wiring is such a hack job. I even have a toggle switch to bypass a power drain I Have somewhere. If the switch is left on while the truck is not running the battery goes dead from the drain. Leave it off while it is running and the alt does not charge the battery.

i think you you need a new harness or atleast a unhacked donor harness.
what year is yur truck again? i have a spare 71-72 style cab harness. it is from a full instrumentation ranger or ranger xlt so it might not work with a dummy light setup or atleast not without some work.
