Push Button Start

Do you guys know how to wire push button to start the car. I have a 69 F100 360 It takes me few min to start the car with the key you have to catch it right in the ignition I need to get a new ignition cylinder. Do you guys know when you replace a ignition cylinder do you have to get a new bezel and ignition switch. Thx

you don't need to replace the bezel, but its a good idea to repace the switch too. the contacts in them wear out.

As long as the "Run" position works and your only having problems with the starter... You can run a push button for the starter... Just hook to the positive side of the battery and to where the "Red-Blue striped" wire on the starter solenoid is connected....
Turn key to "Run" position and hit the push button to activate the starter...

You could do it with the right kind of three position switch (or a switch and push button) but it would need to be connected to the wires right where they are at on the ignition switch or you would have to get a resistor for the wire to the coil...
Really, the amount of work to do all this it all would be easier to replace the stock switch...

so you are asking how to hot wire the truck. check out the wiring diagrams page. it is only one wire that needs to be touched together to start it.. i can't remember how i did it when mine went out but i got lucky when i did it. i bypassed the switch entirely. also i really don't want to say any more about it. you never know who might be reading this. oh by the way i have a used lock set with door locks bezel and switch that is from a 70 model that should plug right in the your harness and doors.

I'd jump on fordman's set he has there.
Their getting harder and harder to find that's for sure.

Easier to "hot-wire" with two switches as Thunderfoot said.
One for the hot to coil, and a pushbutton like gmcjimmy said for the starter solenoid.
jmcjimmy, that's a pretty good sobriety test ya' got there!
