I've ordered from NPD once and they sent me the wrong parts. I ordered from BOTP and get stuff overnight because I'm in California, so I'm sticking with them if they have the parts I need.
NPD catalog is pretty great. I'd still give them another try if BOTP doesn't have what I need. Nice thing about BOTP is you can go on their website and they will have a picture of just about every part they have online.

I live in Charlotte, and have visited Carpenters & NPD's local showrooms a lot. NPD is very good about excepting returns, and does sell alot of stuff from carpenters, and lots of other vendors. I have gotten the wrong stuff before, like window cranks. But they always take reurns (so far). Plus they are open 7 days a week and evenings most days.
Carpenter's is open 9-5, 9-12 saturdays, which makes it hard to visit. More of a family type place. And they are proud of their parts. They will deal if you find them set up at a show, but usually a smaller vendor will have the same parts, often in a DC bag, for less. Their catalog seems to be arrange in a way that makes it harder for me to find what I'm looking for. Example: grill parts are listed in the mechanical section. I would have put the grills in the body. HEadlamp doors are in electrical. Why wouldn't they be listed with the grills? if you order a grill shell and need the headlight doors, your all over the place trying to find part #'s. But, they are friendly and can look the parts up for you if need be. I like DC's, but usually go to NPD first.
Haven't tried LMC, BOTP, or Mac's.
Former owner of 70 LB SportCustom and a 71 SB SportCustom. Looking for a replacement bump!
I ordered from C & G Early Ford Parts and was really impressed with how fast I got the parts. I ordered online at around 10 or 11 AM and had the parts sitting on my doorstep the next day. Granted both of us are in California, but they processed and shipped out my order the same day. Everything I received was good condition and some of the parts were DC parts. I did a small order to test them out and now I will definitely order from them again.
