turn signal lights

Post by meandad xlt »

I have just reinstalled the turn signal/running lights on my 1971 F100.
It has a NEW, Ford, turn signal switch and I believe :? it is wired correctly.

The tail lights work fine, brake lights come on, turn signals work, side markers work, emergency flasher works. When I hook up the front turn signals everything goes goofy.

If I put on the left signal both front and rear flash brightly, but the right side will also flashes dim along with the side markers. It also does the opposite when the right side is on. It doesn't matter if I disconnect either front signal, it still does it.

Any one have any ideas? :o

something has gone wrong in the install. i couldnt tell you what exactly. maybe the contacts in side the wheel arent right or a wire is crossed up in side the dash. it almost sounds like the hazards are feeding over into the tunr signals.

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere to me.
