I'll see if I can find it... it's been a little while now.

Kragen's lists this part number for their headlight switches. They are also known as: Murray's, Checkers, Shucks, or Kragen's of course. You can also order from their website www.partsamerica.com Also this is listed for a 68 F100. I imagine it would work for the rest as well.

is your dimmer switch stuck down by any chance? even though its new it could be go ahead and check that. and recheck the fuses. my other thoughts would be was the connetor plug nice and clean is it making good contact twith your new light switch? i just ran through the wiring diagrams i have hear and thats all i could see that might be wrong. unless your new stuff is bad. that about all the help i can be tonight

I started having the same problem this morning on my way to work. Once I stopped I tried to check the plug on the switch and found the switch was HOT!! The only mod I have done is to put halogen headlights in place of the originals. I wonder if I am overloading the circuit?

I replaced my dimmer and my headlight switch and still had the problem also. My switch gets pretty w,a,r,m as well. I'm not to sure why yet. I think the heat deteriated the insulation on the wire and exposed the copper, which lead to a little oxidation of the wire. I'm thinking a fresh wire needs to be put into place. I need to get in there and see how a new wire can be soldered into the socket. It is on my "to do" list. we'll see how long it takes me to get to it.

Halogens do use more AMP's so this is a good possibility! You may need to put in a relay setup... Something like this that 390nut did... http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... c&&start=0

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

The dimmer switch works great when the headlights are working properly

Install a dual headlight relay from JCW and you won't have any more problems, even with adding any more load. The relay setup eliminates any load problem on your light switch or dimmer switch.
