radio delete plate
been messing with this thing for about 30 minutes to get, from what i can tell, the last plastic harness holding loop from under the dash, and pull the dash pad while i'm at it. It seems to have like a metal bracket holding the plate in, but I can't seem to get it undone...Being blind to the backside sure doesnt help either.

While i havnt messed with one on our trucks, i did pull a delete plate out of a Cheby once... it wasnt an easy chore and we almost gave up a few times and strongly considered just breaking it out.
That was on a mid 90s, so it would have been ok to break the part. in your case, please dont.
Tough it out, take a break if you need to, it will eventually let go for you.

re: radio delete plate
Are these worth something? I really wouldn't know. I got what I needed to do done, without removing it, but want to remove it to shave the dash at some point.
Another interior question....what part unplugs from the wiper switch? I probably am just not pulling hard enough, just wanting to be sure. I also take it the 4 or 5 wires going INTO the motor are not able to be pulled out.

delete plates could be worth something, i dont think theyre being reproduced.
When you say "Shave the dash" does that mean you going to be hacking the hole open for a new stereo, because you dont have to cut the dash at all.
not sure on the wiper switch, but the wires going to the switch should unplug. just make sure you know which wire goes where so you can hook it back up. easy way is to take the switch out then unhook it. to remove, take the knob off, then remove the bezel nut. the switch will slide out through the back.

re: radio delete plate
I will look and see if I can do that.
As far shaving, no. I plan on welding all the holes shut. Everything but the gauge cluster, which will be reworked with circle gauges and a "bucket" for them to match the shape of the plastic cluster housing deal.

re: radio delete plate
The radio delete plate is simply held onto the dash with two nuts, through the existing holes in the dash for the radio shafts. Just remove those two nuts and the delete plate will fall right out.
There are two plugs into the back of the wiper switch. The harness of one of them goes directly to the wiper motor, and is part of it, so it doesn't get removed. Here's a shot of a cab I was sandblasting a while ago which shows the wiper motor harness still there, since the wiper motor wasn't removed.

i have a delete plate i took off mine if anyone wants it. it is a pain to get up in there with a wrench but its worth it not to break anything.

re: radio delete plate
Since those nuts just thread onto plastic standoffs on the delete plate, they're not on there very tight. You might be able to thread them off by hand. Definitely be careful not to break those standoffs though, or the delete plate will be ruined.
