it would be under the floor mat if your truck came equipped with more than one tank. it would be right below the driver seat on the left in front of the seat blet retractor. if you had one. not every truck had one.

re: questions about my truck

Post by FORDification »

NO...you won't have one. The picture you supplied above is of solenoid to do the job electrically rather than manually, something installed by a previous owner. The entire auxiliary setup on your truck is not a factory install.

No, the one behind the seat. Any underbed tanks have been added by a PO.

so do you think the button just switches tanks or do you think it switches tanks and the guage to the tank you have selected? you guys probably need more information on the wiring though.

i read this thread but it didnt really help my problem:

http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=25651

i really should just hook up all the gas lines ( only the underbed tank is hooked up right now) and flip the button and see what happens. maybe i can get that done this weekend.

If it's hooked up like the factory would have, it will do both....switch the fuel supply between the tanks AND allow the fuel gauge to read off the tank being used. Based on your statement that one of the wires goes to the in-cab tank and another goes to this solenoid, I'd say it appears as if the PO did wire this up like the factory would have, just using a funky dash switch to get it done.

and if your either tank is not plumbed to the selenoid then it won't flow into the engine supply line.

LMC sell the brake warning light bezel & lens combo.

I spotted it digging through the summer catalog last night.

Its on page 37, and cost $35 for the setup.

Thanks, i have that issue and somehow i missed that. well i cant order it now because i just spent most of my money on my truck (new headliner material, vynil to cover it, antennae, spray adhensive, primer and more paint for the bumper). and then i have to get a heater and a radio. its on my list though.
thanks!
