gauge harness

Post by Todoubled_00 »

Question for you guys. Is there anywhere to order a new gauge harness. I'm putting autometer guages in and would like to modify a factory harness so that I can just plug the new gauges in. Problem is I dont want to cut up my old one, dont really know why just me I guess. But is there anywhere to order a new one, or should I hit the junk yards? It's a 69 and I know they changed the factory plugs at somepoint... what year?
Thanks Todd.

hey Todoubled_00...

I wouldn't cut the main wiring harness...
Are you replacing idiot lights with gauges or changing panels?
Everything changed in '70 when they changed to a flimsy printed curcuit, then on '71-'72's they have a hard printed board.

let us know which way yer goin' here and well see if we can help ya figure it out...

I'm putting in a new panel from Blue Oval Truck Parts. I know on my 67 Stang the gauge harness unplugged from the main harness. So when I put Autometer gauges in it I ordered a new gauge harness and modified it. That way I just reinstalled the new gauges, plugged them into the facotry plug and turned the key. I was just wondering if someone made a new gauge harness.
