OT - 94 F150 antitheft horn

Post by dbarker »

Hey guys, Im wondering if anyone here could help me out.

I have a 94 F150 with factory antitheft. When panic is pushed, or the antitheft system is activated, the lights flash, but the horn is not sounding.

Horns work fine from the steering wheel. Ive looked at the keyless module, cant find any disconnected / broken wires.

Thanks everyone!

not that i can find. I already went through the fuse box, and didnt see anything. All the fuses to the antitheft system were good.

I believe there is a relay for the (alarm) that actuates this... not positive though... it could be bad...
Other thing I have seen before is that the horn for the (alarm) is a separate horn from the main horn. Look for more horns and be sure they are all working. :2cents:

Oh, one other thing that it could be (not sure here) some vehicles you can program it to NOT honk the horn when you (arm/dis-arm) the (alarm). I wonder if it was set to not honk doing this, that it might not honk when you hit the panic... Just a thought to check out...

no other horns, its just the factory setup that honks your horns. I did go ahead and check for the extra horns.

Forgot about the underhood fuse box. Will check it when its light outside.

IVe thought about the program issue, but cant fine any info online on how to activate/deactivate that feature other than cutting a wire.

From what ive gotten from my other forum haunt, the only fuse for the horns anywhere is the one in the dash, and that is a good fuse.

I may just take it to the local ripoff and see if they can figure it out.

Hate to create a zombie thread, but wth it's my thread!

Here I am all these years later.... still not working!!!

When I push the horn button on the steering wheel, i get horn. If the alarm goes off, nothing.

There is an extra horn button added in under the dash because the clockspring? went out years ago. That underdash button still functions...

Anyone got a fresh idea on what to do? If I disconnect things I lose horn function altogether.
