re: Dash Pad
Got mine today. Just wondering if anyone has pix of a DC or Whitney dashpad... To me, this one looks injection molded, not padded vinyl... it's very "flexy" and uneven.

re: Dash Pad
Still waiting to get the opinion of a bump owner who installed a DC or JC unit. I have that on my Xmas list and want to make sure it is worth buying.

As of right now, I don't think that will happen. I'd rather pay to have my current one recovered by an upholster before I wrangle with this. I'm pretty sure the dashpads from DC or Whitney are nicer... I just need confirmation. The ones at Whitney are supposed to be from original tooling.Ranchero50 wrote:Yep, just wait until you go to install it...
I'm half tempted to blow the money and order one just to see for myself, but I imagine the wife would have something to say about that.

Jamie,
I too will be on my knees tonight saying thanks for my decent dash pad, (I keep the sunshade in the windshield anytime it's not under the carport). Which is most of the time!
Your koolseal looks like it turned out nice!

Yep... this dash pad was a POS! Just tried fitting it today (I have had it for a long time) now it's in the trash! I got it back when cal mustang had their half off sale. I guess it will have to be metal for now....

Re: Dash Pad
Yep... got mine back, too... after threatening to dispute the charge with my credit card company and file reports with the BBB. I had printouts of the website from their sale which represented it as "original in every detail". BS! Those guys are still on my sh!t list, refund or not.
The dash pads from JCW are def. the way to go... I just wish I had the $$ to drop on one before they end up hitting $500!

Re: Dash Pad
The place that makes these dashes, is called dashesdirect.com. If this is where JC Whitney gets them, other places that get them here as well should have the same quality, right? On the list of place that sell these, is Bronco Graveyard, and John's F-Fun Hundreds(f100.com) to name a few I researched. These guys both sell the dash pad for $300. Sounds like a deal to me, cause I think JC Whitney's price keeps rising, and you have to wait for a stupid coupon thing to get a deal. At Bronco Graveyard, I put one in the cart, to see the price with shipping. Pad + shipping = $324.41, not bad! Here is a link to that one. http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-271 ... _black.htm
