If the cables work fine when they're disconnected but are hard when they're hooked up to the A/C unit, then it's the flapper valves in the A/C unit that are binding up. You'll have to do some investigating to see where it's binding. Try disconnecting the cables and manually actuating the flapper valves from the cable's hook-up point on top, and ensure the flappers aren't too tight.

hey keith,
ive tried that and they arnt that tight. however they dont glide open or closed with ease. im pretty sure its cable placement beacause some cables go much more than needed and some dont go far enough.

i just fired up the truck and let it run for about 4 minutes and felt the vents and there.... was...
hot air! :woohoo: :yip:
and the defroster works as well.

thanks for everyones help! now i just need to get the cables right and then next summer i will start disecting the cold air stuff.
