Best method to remove wood grain behind knobs intact

Hi all,

I am heading down to Iowa next week to pull an instrument bezel and the wood grain behind the knobs that is appropriate for my 69.

Any ideas on how to pull the woodgrain sticker where the knobs are without breaking it. Like putting alcohol behind it or wd-40

i use lighter fluid, heat it up tho first with a hair dryer or if you got one a heat gun, comes right off

no no no. remove the knobs from the dash and the whole thing will come off. in two pieces. you will also have to loosen the steering wheel skirt to get it out from behind it.

Thanks lightning, and Fordman. So there is no adhesive it is just held in place by the knobs?

yes the plate is made of aluminum. it comes off when you remove the knobs.
