greasing passenger window tracks
my passenger window was really stiff so my dad adjusted the track with that hex-head at the bottom of the track and now it works alot better but still a little stiff. it is still rubbing on the rubber tracks (the tracks that are the ones visible, connected to the turny corner window) alittle.
is it ok to grease those?

ill try to make it more understandable,
the first thing i tried was greasing the lower track. i greased it behind,in front of, and around the thing that slides through the lower track. that didnt help at all.
the window would be hard to crank in different spots because it would hit the rubber im talking about in those spots. so he adjusted the hex head right by the lower track that i greased. that helped alot but it is still a little hard to roll down or at least harder than the drivers window wich rolls down with ease.
now the points where it is a little hard to roll down are the points that it rubs up against the rubber still.
so im wondering if we could grease that.

re: greasing passenger window tracks
I'm with fordman, I would not grease your rain/dust shields, that will keep your window greasy with about anything you'd use to grease. If your window isn't rolling up and down smoothly (mine weren't), I'd take the door panel off and clean the tracks/roller best I could in truck w/brake cleaner and let dry and then shoot w/PB Blaster and let that sit awhile and then shoot with white lithium in spray can, the points where plastic wheel touches track and contact points. I've done it both ways, NOT cleaning the track thoroughly first (and just adding more grease) and propertly cleaning the track first and then greasing and the 1st method (not cleaning) resulted in very marginal repair and I have to take door apart and do it again, because still hard to roll up. Doors are aggravating to take apart.

well i just cleaned it out or the dirt and i put a little bit of brake cleaner around the thing that slides on the slider, put a little bit of grease on the track again and fiddled around with it alot but it didnt get any better. oh well ill just leave it like it is. it isnt that bad right now.
