Installing delay wiper switch

Post by mjhaltom »

I have an '80-'86 switch and I need some help. I read the tutorial and I think I understand it. I moved the tab from the black\white wire to correspond with the lime colored wire, but that then leaves two wires open where the black\white wire used to be. These wires are 1 orange and 1 black. Is this ok? will everything work now? Thanks in advance for your help.

BTW, my truck is still in a million pieces, so it will be a while before I can test anything.

I bought one on ebay about a week ago, and when I put it on there was a connection that was not needed with the new switch. I think it was the orange and black that I did not use. I thought I was missing something, but I tested it and high and low speed worked as well as intermittent and the washer fluid pump so I went ahead and put it in.

I got a controller and switch on ebay a few months ago.
In my truck, HI works, but Low Speed does not.
However the wipers to proceed to PARK in low speed.
Is there something simple I am missing?
Not wanting to go hole hog trouble shooting at this time, I took it out, if there is a quick fix I am not aware of I'll put it back in.....

Suggestions?
