Intrmittant wiper wiring

I got the intermittant wipers from an 84 installed in my 69 and they plug right in and work great except the socket on the plug that coincides with my washer (green wire) is empty. I probed the back of the new connection looking for the wire off the new connecter that is the washers but didn't find it. I had to bail out before I had time to figure it out but I thought I would see if anyone here remembers what to do. I remember from this tech discussion elsewhere that there was a simple fix for that but I don't remember now what it was. I already have a new wire stubbed through the connector to the green washer hot.
