removing bulb from tail bucket??

Is it not something that can be done on these trucks? Maybe I'm not pulling hard enough.

Is it not removeable for when/if they burn up/go out?

push in and turn. if its rusted in then you can rmove the whole assembly and get to it better. it it breaks off in there or is rellly rusted in you mihgt be able to get another assembly from ebay.

maybe if it does break off in the socket you might be able to use some neddle nose pliers and get the base out of the socket.

i got the brake light bulb out, and I may can use the old plug, socket, whatever......but I need to get the reverse light out as well.

Hey layedout72,

I got mine at NAPA... they are not exactly the same as the stock ones, but work great.
There are differant types, so match the style with the ones you are removing.
Use the single wire socket for your backups and the double wire for the brake/tail/turn.
The hardest part is getting the old socket out.
I used a flat punch and small leather mallot to get it started, after that you can use needle nose pliers to bend the ring around the socket that holds it in.
The new sockets have tabs that fit up in the hole, you just have to bend the tabs down to secure it in the hole... again I used the punch and mallot
It's really pretty simple.

If youre leary of needle nose, you can take a fresh carrot (hard) and trim it to fit into the broken off bulb and push in and turn with that, kinda wedget it in there good. Same trick for house light bulbs that break, but use potato or broom handle. I keep a big tube of dielectric grease and use on anything and I don't spare. Older I get the more I use of anti-seize, PB Blaster and antiseize and things of that nature because I have fought corrosion so much. If I ever do get something apart I want to make dang sure when it comes apart in the future it's not such a struggle. I also use heat whenever I can, and have been suffering with little propane ones, and saving up for a real torch. that helps tons with frozen stuff, ENOUGH heat.
