I'm pretty certain it is 5/16 FINE , or UNF thread.
I thnk UNC is 18, UNF is 24 in a 5/16 size

Are you using a bolt to pull the wheel off? can someone show a picture of this?

Hey Ryan, do you have a tap set? Just spin a tap in by hand and you should be able to figure out size and thread by the one that goes in without having to force it.

i dont know what a tap set is but i dont think putting random bolts in until one goes in smooth will work anymore since the threads are now messed up. which is why we are trying to find out the thread.

thanks guys.

max no each steering wheel has two bolt holes in it to help when using a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel. it seems that the bolts they were using got pulled out of the threads in the wheel and no they are trying to repair the threads.

ryan i have a tap i will go out and see if i have the right tap later and try it on a spare wheel i have laying around.

I will explain to my son what taps and dies are. The steering wheel puller came with a ton of bolts but none threaded in as smooth as I would have liked, the threads might have been messed up previously. I will just get a tap and chase them to clean them up for next time. Thanks for all the help.
