sounds like a bad switch. or the plug that goes to the switch.

hi fordman, I thought about it overnight. I think I'll disconnect btty ground and remove the switch and try to clean it and wiring attached best I can and make sure everything snug and try it again. But, if I still continue to have problem, I do wonder why the Dennis Carpenter stock switch (2 speed) is only 15 and everybody elses switches (incl Oreilly) were closer to 50 or so? I was wondering if it was like the LMC armrest trick, where we all bought and they don't truly work well for anyone, so I was kinda pulsing too if anyone had bought that switch from Dennis Carpenter and unhappy.

Well, I disconnected ground strap from battery, removed stock 68 wiper switch from the dash and then lightly pulled on the plastic/metal switch until I got a little pulled apart on the switch and shot it full of electrical contact cleaner and cycled it several times and seems to be working fine now. Had to fab a wiper switch button, as the old one had stripped, just so happened I had some tuner knobs from a Fender Telecaster guitar and attached one of them to the wiper switch and it works fantastic. Total cost for this entire repair about 50 cents in electrical contact cleaner and an hour of labor. Thx for the switch advice.
