clutch pedal removal

Post by farmtruckman »

Any thoughts on removing the clutch pedal? Previous owner put in auto and just hid pedal under carpet!!!! Little tacky but would like to remove pedal and keep existing assembly. Are they the same on the manual vs auto trucks? If not, has anybody put a spacer on the shaft to take up the space of the pedal?

Any suggestions always welcomed. :?

Yea, they are the same. Maybe someone has a pin from an auto truck they could sell you.
If not, the pin is 5/8" diameter. You could get a bolt of the appropriate length, so that no threads are in the bushing area, then use some washers on the nut end to make everything nice and snug.

yes the brackets are the same. and the pins are different. the clutch pedal has the pin welded to it. the auto pedal setups have a single pin by itself. let me look i think i have a pin from a dentside that might fit.

The one I took of my '68 most certainly didn't.

You may be right, but I seem to recall it wasn't. I don't have it any more (it went to Texas) or I'd look.
