CS project update 1/5 a few questions???

Got quite abit done on the CS yesterday.

Got some more dismantling done and brought somethings home to throw in the parts washer...
Dropped the flywheel off to be resurfaced and picked up the new clutch and pressure plate, but dang I forgot the throw out bearing...

Hey Craftsman,

I'm just gonna clean it up and put it back in...
It runs great and only has about 60,000 miles on it.
I have a new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing, and a rebuilt NP435 for it...
What really started this project was bustin' a few hedder bolts of in the head...
figured it was easier to cut the hedders off and pull the engine rather than try to fix it in the truck...
All total, 8 bolts ended up braking... all of the top bolts.
Decided to clean up the engine compartment and replace the rotted out passenger side inner fender and convert to power steering while I have easy access...
I have all the parts now, it is just mostly doing the cleaning and painting then reassembly...

Took another friday off to work on the CS...

Got the manual steering box off, and got the engine cleaned up the best I could for paint...
I decided I'm gonna go with black block with dark Ford blue valve covers and air cleaner, with the aluminum intake, that should look pretty good.
Without disassembling the engine down to the basic long block where I could get it really clean I couldn't see painting it blue.
I figure since it looks mostly black anyway, any place the paint didn't cover, wouldn't be nearly as noticable as if I painted it dark blue.
I did the best I could cleaning the Edlebrock aluminum intake.
It is so discolored from the corrosion and oil that was on it, that it looks pretty crudy...
I was wondering about shooting it with some high temp aluminum paint...
Does anyone know if that would affect it's heat dispersment capabilities???

The silver aluminum paint would be fine on the intake, it wont affect it as much as the regular engine paint would.

Thanks... I'm, not exactly sure which aluminum paint yer referring to.
Is is a high heat paint like engine paint or like chrome in a can?
I am going tomorrow to buy the black engine paint and hope to get a coat on tomorrow afternoon.
I going to a wedding tomorrow, so it just depends on when I get home from that if I have enough time.

Either one will work... basically silver paint has aluminum in it.

Device cooling can be improved by silver paint.

Silver paint is made with a minute aluminum powder. The temperature (infrared wavelength) of aluminum powder will emit heat more efficiently because of the size of surface area of the spherical powder into 360 degrees of space.

The high temp silver engine paint would probably be the best.

I'm thinkin' right along those lines...
I'd like ta build an olde skool limey bobber on an Amen "Savior" style frame...
I'm not sure if they make 'em for limey's or not, but I use to ride a '59 pan with one.
It still had the lines of a rigid, but was a lot more comfy to ride...
Wif my bus Olde Skool, a scoot would could go right up the ramp into da bump trailer... and I'd be set

I think there may be one or two places that still makes the rigid style with the plunger type rear if thats what ya mean.. I always heard there were pretty scary around curves, then I took a buddies bsa out that was in one of those frames and well scary wasnt the word for it..course it could have been from the rear and the 6 foot long front end
