OK, here's an easy one, for those of you who have done a little truck disassembly:

ALL bumpsides have one of these...what is it?

Hmm, I haven't taken apart my truck yet so I'll have to guess... Is it the mount for the back side of the ignition switch?

Oh, I have fiddled with one of those. But I can't remember for sure where, I wanna say it's for the headlight switch?

...Is it the mount for the back side of the ignition switch?

Yes it is! This little bracket stabilizes the backside of the ignition switch, and is attached to the bottom of the dash lip with a sheetmetal screw.

i've been trashing those things with the cabs. they just arent a wanted item. i did save a couple of them somewhere though.

they do get screwed to the dash don't they?

yes they havea phillips scre from the bottom that goes into the flange in the picture.

Unless said screw is used to hold a small speaker box to the bottom of the dash, and the screw comes loose enough to let the speaker hang at a bit of an angle but not quite snugged up, and rattles everytime you hit a bump.

Dangit, I'm too late
