buy a new handle. yours is possbly worn out. if its not worn out then it could be the vent rubber is worn and not sealing properly.

at least you didnt try to turn your vent window and then notice it was welded shut and now it wont close anymore and now need new door

yes that plastic is the part that wears down on them.

There is no piece of plastic on the end. That would explain the gap if there was supposed to be one.

yeah, there should be no gap. the lever should rub along the vertical silver plate.

I upgraded from the NOS paper to a custom thin wood wedge. Kinda gives it the 'woodgrain' look.

The 67's have a different style of handle and dont loosen up like the 68-72's do.

Ah Man!! Mine took 50 cents. 2 quarters. It always worked great until I needed a coffee, and then it was broke for a couple days.
