How do you fix wing window?

Post by nadams »

The truck I just purchased came with this NOS piece of paper to hold drivers side wing window shut.

How do I fix this so I do not need the paper?

buy a new handle. yours is possbly worn out. if its not worn out then it could be the vent rubber is worn and not sealing properly.

Thank you for the quick response! I feel like an idiot now. I was thinking there was some special alignment trick to fix this.

Isn't there a fitted piece of plastic on the end?

There is no piece of plastic on the end. That would explain the gap if there was supposed to be one.

I upgraded from the NOS paper to a custom thin wood wedge. Kinda gives it the 'woodgrain' look.

I believe that's an Explorer upgrade option.

Ah Man!! Mine took 50 cents. 2 quarters. It always worked great until I needed a coffee, and then it was broke for a couple days.
