3rd brake light
Has any one installed a 3rd brake light? Like maybe on the cab or someplace? I was thinking of that. Jay

I've been thinking of modifying the factory cargo light to have two red leds in it tied to the brakes. one on each side.
leaving it for use as the cargo lamp and still using it for ther third brake light.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

The 1994 - 1998 or so Ford Ranger has a fairly small 3rd brake light on the cab with the cargo light(s) built into it. I remember having to put some silicone sealant around the one on a friend's to stop water from leaking into his truck past a bad seal on the brake light. If I think about it the next time I go to the local wrecking yard I will see if I can pick one up to compare it to the one on my '69 Ranger.
Too many projects, too little time, but.. lovin' it!

I've been thinking of getting one of those hitch-cover lights that you can plug in to your trailer brakes to work as a brake light... figure the extra light would help. It's a down-the-road project, though... I'm afraid to screw with my wiring too much right now.

Or, with some finagling and rigging, you might be able to get this worked in pretty nicely:

We did the third break light in the cargo light , two 1/4" holes one on both sides and used two led lights !

re: 3rd brake light
I'll try to get some today and post it for you ! It's was no big deal to do that is Wye i never brought the subject up . There not very bright during the day but at night it is nice ! Putting them in the cargo light keep the stock look , and that was the plan from the start. We just added power door locks and i have to tell you it's all ready worth it , no more key to lock the drivers door and no more reaching over to open the shotgun door
