303 Stainless, is that a hardenend stainless? Is there such a thing?

I know 18-8 Stainless is the stainless steel that doesn't rust because I bought a bunch of threaded studs, nuts and washers for some Hurricane protection boards I had installed on one of my former homes here in Florida. The studs were screwed into tamp-in lead anchors in the block walls and were left there after fitting and removing the boards from the doors and windows. After 6 years, when I was moving out, they didn't show a bit of rust on them.

Isn't stainless is a soft metal that will break or bend easily when torqued on a lot?

This, of course, is completely from memory

Grade 303 Stainless steel represents superior machinability over all other austenitic stainless steels due to the addition of sulphur in the material.

The sulphur however, does reduce the material’s resistance to corrosion as well as causing poor weldability results.

The uses of grade 303 are as follows:

·Nuts & bolts
·Bushings
·Shafts
·Aircraft fittings
·Electrical switchgear components
·Gears

Dang... you suckers are fast!! There were 4 available when I posted this, and then I went and ate dinner, put the kids to bed, and watched a TV show. I checked back just now, and there was only one left!! There have been 4 available for days... haha! I guess I helped them sell 'em... wonder if I can get a cut?

Anyhow... went ahead and bought the last one before one of you jokers grabbed it out from under me. :P

(hope it works, or the last laugh is on me! lol)

That's a pretty good deal. He's making money, but not a killking considering the machine steps unless he's getting the material for free.

I was looking at the other items that he/she (I am as PC as you can be :D ) is selling. I think they must work at some machining plant and are doing a little side work or have a very expensive set up at home. Either way I am getting a bezel. Thanks again for the tip.
