my dad and i are going to start grabbing them and putting them on ebay. (after i see if a member wants one for the price i payed at the junkyard).
I went and got mine earlier today(djroffroad is a great guy and has alot of these switches, if your looking for one you should check out his listings), I took one look at the 71 and decided to just wait and put it in the 69 before anything else is in the 69.
in the 71, there was a PO installed switch in the way (verry hard to remove because of a non-accessable nut).

re: wipe delay
Was out with dad today, carved out a few minutes to make a quick walk through the wreckers. Now I just have to get back there as I had no time to remove the four delay switches I found, not to mention the 79 tilt column calling my name
Got to looking at the D8TB delay assembly I have sitting here. Looks to me like it's just the 80-up delay setups that need the wire moved to get the washer working as there are no extra sockets on the 78-9 plug. I've got an 85 switch in my 68 now but it's always seemed the wiper sweep speed on delay was too fast. Anybody else notice this? I'm going to try the 78 switch/timer to see if there's a difference in the speed. As they did install longer wipers in 80, maybe they sped it up to allow for the increased drag. Maybe it's just my imagination...

Very inconvenient when trying to run through the gears from a stop, or a bunch of stops. If I had three arms and hands, one to hold the steering wheel, one to shift the three-on-the-tree and one to work the wiper switch it'd be great but our Creator didn't make us that way.
If HE had created us that way there would have been more knobs and switches to have to operate when driving to make us need a fourth arm and hand. Ah-h-h-h, those intermittent wipers are great!
Now for a look to install Cruise Control in my '68 3 Speed pickup... ...I might need to convert it to an automatic for that Dentside option.

Too many projects, too little time, but.. lovin' it!

re: wiper delay
l1k2gadd you took the words out of my mouth. I took the bump on a little road trip and was commenting to my stepson that I would love to have cruise control in the truck.
