Well, spent some money the past few days

- New set of Jet-hot coated Hedman headers
- New Black crinkle Lemans FE valve covers
- New Chrome Ford air cleaner with hipo 390 sticker (LOL)
- New 750 Vac sec Holley

This week I detailed under the hood and painted the long block (its only got 10K on it), replaced the rear main seal and painted the oil pan, and cleaned the aluminum intake

Tomorrow I am going to clean up the wiring harness and make things a little prettier than they were

I am out scouting for prices to get the bed walnut shell blasted and epoxy primed while I put the Dana 60 and new rear springs in

Coming along well, more pics in a week or so when the engine compartment is finished!

Here is the new carb, 750 vac sec

Here is one of the new valve covers

And another view. Needless to say the carb will be swapped and I am going to get the distributor looking good :) I swapped the oil pressure sender and detailed the oil filter adapter just after this pic!

Jet Hot coated Hedman Headers are due here next week, I'll update with assembled and final detail underhood ASAP!

Same carb I've got on my boat, (but I have the marine version with electric choke).
I love that carb with the center-hung floats, and ease of working on.
Like the valve covers too.

Prolly what happened to the pushrod was old gummed up gas varnish on the valve stem and guide caused the valve to hang up in the guide.

Getting there

Post by My427stang »

A few more pics

Waiting on my headers, didnt show yesterday, a different dual feed line, and a backordered repop Ford hipo air cleaner complete with "High Performance 390" sticker

Current air cleaner is temporary, and very ugly needless to say LOL

Still need to detail the lower steering column mount, change around how the heater hoses run, and run the brake booster vacuum hose correctly on the original tie downs to the cowl

I can go another 3 inches.

That filter used to be on the motor with a 1 inch nitrous plate, a Predator carb and a heat shield!

Matter of fact, years ago when I though it needed even more air I used to stack 2 of those filters with a drop down base

I am older and calmer now, just want a good running street truck, the Mustang is there when I really want to boogie

Looking great! Love the valve covers!
Was that spark wiring pre-made? If so, which it is it? Fits nice and I'm looking for a good set.

No I cut them to length 15 yrs ago, however I rerouted them and you can see #5 is a little long, I am going to shorten it. Might even be time to change them :)

I also had to open all the stock Ford looms with a dremel to fit the 8 mm wires
