Cloudy guages

Post by Heavenlyfire »

Does anyone know what I could use to polish the plastic cover on my gauge cluster. It has been damaged by the sun to the point that it is very hard to read.

Thanks

There are all kinds of plastic polishes that would do it, with a lot of elbow grease. However, considering that brand new replacements are only $30 through LMC, I think I'd just consider going that route, to save the time and effort.

If I recall correctly, Dennis Carpenter sells these, too.

I am getting upset with whittney these days, nothing for the older trucks. They used to have some great stuff for good prices but now if it is not newer than a75, they don't deal with it. Or so it seams. Does carpenter have a website?

That would be the easiest way. It's on my 'replace' list.

For those that don't want to replace their clouded lense try going to your local glass supplier and get some Novus plastic polish it comes in 3 different grades.

If you have a Drilmel and a couple of those felt buffing wheels you can use jewlers rouge. Just beware of the screw in the end of the pad to keep it off the plastic.
