A move in the right direction
I know it's far from finished, but here is a little update on my F100. This is after a bunch of body aligning, chemical burns from stripping the paint off the grill, a new bumper, and the wheel install. First is before, then after.

Looking good
One thing I will never understand.
Why do folks paint aluminum grills? Maybe I'm just too old school to understand.

Nice work on the grill! Did you also polish, or is that just how it came out after stripping?

Re: re: A move in the right direction
After stripping I used some polish made by Eagle One. It's cotton wadding in a can that is saturated in some sort of polish. It really worked well since it scrubs as you polish with it, and there was some sort of residue left on the metal. It won't do as well as a polishing compound, but it does good nonetheless.Nausea wrote:Nice work on the grill! Did you also polish, or is that just how it came out after stripping?

Yeah, the two pieces missing kills me since the rest of the grill is so nice. I've got a buddy who is a welder at a race car shop and he says he can weld in some new pieces for me, and I've already got some from a wrecked truck at the local yard, so we'll see how that pans out. I'm almost scared to let him mess with it, seems how it's in such nice shape as is.1971ford wrote:that grille looks nicer than mine (except the 2 pieces missing), and yours use to be covered in paint! those wheels are sweetit gets me thinking about what wheels i want on the 69 project

Eventually I want to do the 3" lowering kit, but it'll be awhile. First I have to restore the interior and have it painted, and the motor runs good but it's tired, so there is lots to spend money on before I'll be ready to fork out the $$$ for that!ezernut9mm wrote:lookin good man, now lower it!
