Remove the old motor first and see if the arms are jammed or frozen up by trying to move them when the linkage arms are off of the old motor like Thunderfoot mentioned. The motor is visible from under the dash. Your old motor might be okay.

I had a wiper motor in a 1988 pickup, I believe, that wasn't working shortly after I bought the truck. I went outside and just lifted up on each wiper arms a little and put them back down. Actually, when I touched the second arm the wipers started working.
Too many projects, too little time, but.. lovin' it!

OK well after a few hours yesterday and about 3 hours today I finally got the wipers to work.
I had to mount the motor 3 times as the first two attempts ended with a non working motor..

What I found was the two bottom bolts have a fine flat copper grounding flap that was to be sandwiched between the motor and the steel motor mount.

Easy mistake and an easy fix! Just a lot of time spent on my back with my hands wedged in the dash!
Id post a lil vis but the internet connection at my house is rather slooooow tonight..

But Thanks to all you guys for the help and for the diagrams that made my job much easier!
