A Step Closer

Post by RWG »

Here is a vid of my 72 Bump...
Its come a long way in the last week..
http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=i5wt8o&s=3

Thursday.. New wires,plugs,cap and rotor....
Friday... New water pump and belts..
Saturday... A bit of fine tuning and 3 or so hours on my back with my hands wedged under the dash working on the wiper motor...
Sunday..Finished up the wiper motor and cleaned up the wires under the hood.. New coil, points, fuel filter, radio now works along with all inside lights (except the emergency brake and cigar lighter) Red LED's inside the dome light with a lexan cover for more light..

Heck with this tune up and such she has a bunch more power and nice pick up off the line...
I talked the wife into a bit of "Tax Cash" to get the body rust taken care of so I can paint it...

Next weekend is New Rotors and pads up front. And...... And.....And

Nice work the engine looks and sounds great. The red LED is cool too. Question does the red give you enough light to see at night if you dropped something etc?

Just curious, what mufflers are you running? I got to make my 72 quieter due to VA sound ordinance, and I like the sound of your truck. Not extremely loud, but nice. let me know by PM or a reply to this post if you would.

Thanks,
Josh

You have to get a bit used to it as it blows your eyes ability to see all colors.
Blue becomes black and white becomes red.
We used to do this in high school a buddys father worked in the aircraft industry and they use red LED in the cockpits so you don't have the white glare.
Plus they pull almost no voltage!

Thanks!

Thanks,
They are Flow Masters but I have no idea what model.. They are about 28 or so long..

The headers sound nice with a nice TING to them... I have new exhaust manifold gaskets and I figure I will just pull the headers and wrap them with the black glass wrap while im at it.. Then replace all the bolts with stainless...

Oh.....The truck sounds good at idle.... But when she is opened up she has that old school low rider krackel!

Sounds good and draws a bit of attention...

Thanks!
