Well this is really funny. Hello all, I'm new to this site and forum, and I've been checking out alot of the material and forum subjects for a couple days now. As it so happens I was trying to change the bulb in my dome light this morning and I put my finger right thru the lens :( And 6 hours later I'm going thru the boards looking at all kinds of interesting posts and I see this thread :) Ranchero, your work looks fantastic!! And if you still are making them or have any left I'd like to order one.

I had a guy last week look inside my truck and ask " where did you buy that?" I told him about this site to get one for himself. He gave quite a good compliment........ he thinks you are stepping on Boyds territory.

no problemo. i just snapped some shots for you. let me know if there are any specific angles etc. i didnt wipe the bezel down or anything to make it look the nicest it could be, but i can do that if you need another angle etc.

i couldnt get any good pics of the interior of the truck with no flash and the dome light on, because it showed up alot darker on the camera.

i still cant get over how sweet it looks

Fordman, really the choice is yours. Shine the snot out of them, wash with laquer thinner and spray a couple light coats of clear. I'm looking into an anodizing station and a vibratory polisher, but both take up a good bit of room.

Ryan, welcome to the fuzzy picture club :) Your pics actually look better than most of mine so don't sweat it. I figure there's 70 or so of these things floating around now so someone should be able to get a decent pic besides Ezer.

:? Is it worth it to change the bulb to one of those multiple diod LED bulbs? Has anyone put in the LED bulb yet? Just curious if it makes much of a difference.

I'm curious, too. Seems you would get a whiter and cooler light... not sure what it would take to swap 'em out, though...

it wouldnt take anything to swap them out. as long as you get a LED with the same base part. i linked to a site earlier in this thread that had the right ones i think.
