1976, not lights in dash?

Post by cghstrojan08 »

On my 76, there are no lights in the dash when you turn the headlights on. Could it be burnt out bulbs or bad fuse somewhere?

checking the fuse would be the easiest thing to try first. i wouldnt think all of the bulbs would burn out all at once though but you sould check them next and then onto the hedlight swithc to see if it had power coming out to the circut board lights.

It sounds like the same thing my 71 F250 was doing. I didn't have any dash lights no matter what I tried. I changed out the headlight switch and that fixed the problem. The switch has a small coil spring that controls the brightness of the dash lights and it wears out over the years. After checking the fuse, try installing a new switch. :2cents:
