nice little hardbody you had there. take a look at Marz68's truck. It's stock floored and all. chopped, sheet metal bed, its real nice. Why not give the ford the same treatment as the nissan? If the body is off you may as well jig the frame to a table and get it sitting right!

And when he gets stuck on a parking bump, he can call one of us and our BUMPS to pull him to safety! lol

thanks for all the positive feedback guys, yeah I definatly know we have our work cut out for us, or rusted out for us, however you look at it. We debated the whole finding another truck issue quite a bit. But around here, there really is not alot to find at all, and if you do, there rusted out too, or some guy wants a fortune for it. so here we are with what we have. Ive seen the one truck one of you was talking about and I love it. Haha, of course after buiding a truck like my nissan, if crossed my mind to make the ford just like it, but i want something my dad can enjoy to. so were probably going to lower is just a little bit. But for the most part we just want a simple cool truck. we already have a 302 lined up to go in it down the road. but thats a ways ahead. our new metal will be coming in this week, so ill be really busy soon. plenty of pics to follow........

This is probably more drop than I can handle, but I DO like that they kept most of the "native" features in place on this '67. Thought you might like to check this out for some inspiration:

I like your attitude. I rebuilt a dent cab that was almost as bad as yours. The metal working skills you both will both learn or improve on will last forever. :)

we got the firewall stripped tonight. we used a chemical stripper and some wire brushes. It wasnt too bad of a job. I think im gonna end up stripping the entire cab down the same way so im working with a clean slate. the only spot the the firewall that is bad is the area on the driverside at the top of the foot box and where the steering column goes thru the firewall. that wil all be repaired, and what you see in the tranny tunnel is just surface rust, also the mangled up area where the accelerater linkage comes thru is the victim of the previous owner. I will be fixing all that too.

all our new metal comes in tomorow!!! :D

Hi Nick! Welcome to the site. :D

Nothing beats a father/son project. Time spent together is irreplacable. As for the rust... with time, tools and new metal, anything can be fixed. Good luck with it. Keep us posted.

Wellcome!!!

If it is just the floor, then I think I have you beat on the rust. My 63 is REALY BAD!!

Once I get my 63 rolling again, I think I an going to have mine blasted instead of the chem strip.

Looks like you are moving right along!
