I was going to do the same thing!! But I bought me a new one and man am I ever glad I did! The body man said if I was to paint the other one it woud not look good at all. Chrome paint  not worth the money! Now there is some chrome paint thats 100$ that looks just like chrome but all the other ones are a little dull.

i tried paint one once. the chrome of the paint wasn't very shiny compared to the original argent silver pain that came from the factory.

no one they are expensive no matter where you look. some other possible options are to get a cluster and bezel out of a f-500 or f600. and use that. some are painted and some are chrome with a black painted face. or you can get a metal bezel and have that chromed.

Yeah, I broke down and bought a DC regular one for mine and it was worth it since it seems I'm always looking at it while driving...

I found a good one in a pick and pull that someone had painted with model car paint. They did a real nice job. It would have been better if they had used a mini airbrush setup though. All I had to do was clean it up. It's not chrome or anything, but decent to look at nonetheless.

...and no, I don't have a picture.

I painted mine, but not with chrome. Mine was horrible looking, so I stripped it with oven off, and two toned it to match the interior, put in new bulbs and clear lens.

Thanks, I used Duplicolor Automotive paint.
That picture does no justice, looks like crap.
Key thing to repainting is to strip ALL of the clear primer coat thats under the chrome plating on these bezels, its the stuff that turns yellow when the chrome fades away.

Hey Darrman...

That looks really sweet...
Isn't that a metal '67 style panel?
I know the '68 and later ones are plastic.
They would probably look just as nice as yours if painted that way.
