Switch trim

Post by AlleyCat »

Does anyone have a way to refinish these? I can clean up the bright part with #0000 steel wool but I'm wondering how to restore or at least touch up the woodgrain.Thanks.

Brown shoe polish? Seems to me I remember someone doing that on the woodgrain trim on an LTD.

I don't know if I'd use 0000 steel wool on that, if it is aluminum. I do not know what it is myself, but if it is chromed steel you can use 0000 steel wool on it, but I believe steel wool will (edited for spelling, should have used spell check?) scratch the finish on aluminum.
Too many projects, too little time, but.. lovin' it!

The aluminum has some corrosion on it now so the scratches really won't hurt it.
