Bad ground or bad bulb somewhere i would suspect rear bulbs crossing over.

the brake warning switch isnt in this problem. i think your porblem is the flasher cans. change both of them. unless someone has rewired the wiring in your truck. little more history on the truck mihgt help too. is this a new truck to you or have you had it for a long time? and has this problem just developed?

i'd start under the bed in the rear of the truck. sounds like someone has cross wired the turn signals into the brakes. or it could be a bad ground. the turn signal cam in the column could also be toast.

Sounds to me that your 4 way switch is on and the 4 way flasher is burned out. The fact that your indicater lights show while braking means that your front turn lights are coming on along with the rears indicating that your 4 way switch is turned on. Could also be no juice to the 4 way circuit(bad flasher or fuse).

I also wonder about the condition of your wiring underneath the cab/truck and just aunder thdash or even up under the hood on the driverside inner fender.

since you said it has another bed i would make sure none of the rear light wires have been crimped by the bed. this will cause all kinds of wierd stuff to happen.
