67 f250 starts rights up

Post by SteveC »

Well today i finally got started on my 67 dad i and pushed it 3 flat tires and all into the shop changed the tires and we thought well i wonder if the engine will turn over at least. I turn the key for hardly even 3 seconds and by the time i let go it was already running strong...although we had to shut it back off about 10 seconds later as fuel came out of every possible gasket place on the carb  this thing has sat since at least 1999 and not started till today.
I'm still in shock that it started that easy and kept running.

The More im around these old ford cars and trucks the more i am comeing to hate my 92 silveradeo. the only reason i keep it is 4 wheel drive since the city seems to love to plow the snow on the streets into my drive way. :x

Ya, they are amazing. I started one like that after it set for 3 or 4 years, although i primed the carb first though, but it started and idled, i was surprised.
Post some pics of it when you can and keep us updated of the project. :fr:
