patching the radiator support

Post by kaptnkaos »

Hey Guys

Spent most of the day rounding up parts and working on the radiator support patch job. So far so good..
I still have a little ways to go on the passenger side (which was the worst of course), so far so good. I should have it ready to paint on monday.
I don't do any work on my projects on Sundays.
'Cause I spend most of the day hangin' out with my friend JC...

Good job  your moving right along there, i would have done mine like that if it wasn't rusted so bad in so many places  . I got a dent support that am going to use, i just have to clean it and paint, drilled all the holes needed, now on to the prepping. :fr:

Yeah Craftsman,

I thought about getting a dent support too, but I already had this one from the '71.
The rust was worse than I originally thought
(before I took the wire wheel to it).
My buddy Kyle was gonna weld it up for me 'cause I though it just had a couple of holes in it that I could see... after cleaning it up I decided to go this way.
Funny, perhaps my cleaning it invited more holes to join in...
There are still a few rust pox that are deeper than the patch surface, so I'm gonna put another thin layer of the bondo on it to fill in the craters.
I'll post some pics as I go...
