Thanks for all the positive comments from everyone! I just can't wait until the interior looks as good as the exterior. I already took care of the door seals and anti rattles, but I still need a headliner, dash pad, seat redone, gauge cluster, and a few this-and-thats. I'll post pics once that's all finished too.
I think I've made pretty good progress considering I bought the truck in mid November!

Thanks, I like them too. I have no idea where they came from, as they were in the bed of the truck when I bought it just like the rest of the trim, but they have a nice design that works well with the truck.BiggDogg wrote:Looks great congrats! I really like those bed rails you got they look great.

There are two styles you can buy; one is a cast piece and the other is billit aluminum. They cost more, but for a truck I would definetly go with the billits. They are recommended for heavier duty applications. The only problem I had was that I had to hit the ends of the studs with a grinder and take about 1/16" off them so they wouldn't hit the wheel. I just spun the nuts on, ground a little off the ends, and backed the nuts off to clean the threads. It was no big deal. These are the ones I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wheel-Ad ... .m20.l1116 That is for a set of two, so I had to buy two sets, a total of $165 with shipping.greenmeanie48 wrote:fomocoguy,2 thumbs up. looks great love the wheels 2. any problems with the adapters ? i was thinking about a set for my 72 short bed cause of the selection of wheels.

yeah they arefomocoguy wrote:Thanks! Those would be 17" Torque Thrusts, by American racing. I had them on a 78 T-Bird, but took them off when I sold it. I used some billet aluminum adapters to make them fit, as they are 5 x 4.5" lug pattern compared to the trucks 5 x 5.5" pattern. They are not available in the larger lug pattern.basketcase0302 wrote:fomocoguy,
Awesome outcome on the paint job man.
Couldn't agree more about maaco, (although I've never had any work done by them).
It's all in the prep work.
What kind of wheels?

The largest available lug pattern for the Torque Thrust II is 5x5, where our trucks use a 5x5.5" pattern. http://asp.americanracing.com/wheelssol ... q-Thrust® This is from the American Racing website.

I realize that the look is very similar, but they are entirely different wheels with a different model number. The ones you are showing are the AR-109 where the ones on my truck are the AR-505. If you look at them closely you see that my spokes curve outward from the center and then back into the wheel, where the 109's have a straight spoke with no curve. Plus the centercap is different. See them next to each other, especially in person, and the differences are more prominent. ![Thumbs up ](./images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif)

re: 72 Swb update, new paint!
Looking good. Hope I can get mine on the move soon. I want to redo the paint and interior on mine too. Hope it looks as good as this. The Torque Thrusts look great. I might eventually change mine to something like that. Good luck on the interior.
