Pull A Part yards

Post by Heavenlyfire »

Ok all, I had to pull out the soapbox today. Just got back from my local pull a part. Went looking for some misc items and had some luck. They have a 70 F-100 there with a lot of good looking front body parts ( that I need), a real nice looking bench seat in great condition ( that I need). and a couple of other parts. Any way, I made a list of what they had and went back to the front counter to get prices. By the time the guy was done adding them up, I could have bought the whole truck for less. What is up with this???

Any way, just wanted to say many many thanks to Keith for this site and to all who have helped others including myself, with parts and information at a more realistic price. You guys rock. :fr:  :woohoo: :2cents:

That's how they make their money.
They know that selling the parts individually will make several times the cost of the vehicle.
New cars are the same way. If you purchased enough parts to make a complete car, it would cost a LOT more than buying the car off the dealers lot.

Thgere's good and bad here. One was asking $200 for a steering column here!
And I went to the one that doesn't charge admission here and he wanted 35 bucks for a cargo light! I told him new it was only 35 bucks so he came down to 30. Thanks pal, maybe not.
Sorry, I'm ranting too. I pulled a grill for the piece of Dodge only to find out the tabs were busted. He still wanted $50 for it. I found it brand new for $29!!!
There is a couple good ones out by Brown Field in Chula Vista if you live in the San Diego area. Tapatio's has always been good to me.

and now that Auto Zone is selling salvage parts. The prices for us will keep going up. Why sell to Joes Smith when you can sell for more money to Autozone.
