Hey Mike,
I got mine, too... roughly the same size as yours.
At first I thought it would be too small as well, but it turns out that the SMALL tapered end is the one that will work. The other end probably has no application for us. Keep in mind it has to get inside of the chrome ring on the bezels. I tested it on my light switch bezel and it worked well.

Awesome... yeah, the way it was made to be able to put a wrench on it really helped. If it had been smoothe, I'd still be out there twisting away. SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!

It's better than what I made a few years ago. I took a deep well socket and made two cuts from the end, then a cut from either side, and was left with two nubs that with some filing fit the notches in the bezel. It doesn't look nearly as pretty as this one but I can use a 3/8" drive ratchet on mine. ![Thumbs up :thup:](./images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif)
